It is an all-time favorite of mine, and I love reading it! i think that this book reminded me alot of pirates of the caribbean(and it was also alot diffret).I liked the description that he wrote about evrything that happened to that boy and his dog over all i thought that this was a great book. This series isn't quite up to par with the Redwall series, but still enjoyable. I wish Brian Jacques had been writing when I was a kid! There are riddles and puzzles, just like in the Redwall books. no reviews | add a review

Mr. Jacques really pulled all the plugs on his creativity. It's so great to, first of all, have the myth of Captain Vanderdecken elaborated on, and secondly, have a sequel to that initial idea.
I loved Ben and Ned, from the beginning to the end of the series. It was interesting, to slowly see the gap between the first and second parts of Castaways of the Flying Dutchman be filled in. It's a (forgive the pun) novel approach to writing a book.
All in all, this is one of my absolute favorite books. I've always been a sucker for pirate books, and this helps to fill that hole.
