From Swedish folk tales originally written and illustrated at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20thC.- glorious, evocative watercolour pictures that show exactly who and how the characters are - look at the cover, with the troll peering at the cottage in the forest. John Bauer was an amazing artist who died far too young. Not just for children. ( )
