I think that this book was pretty good! This book was pretty interesting to see how Clarice Bean and her friends deal with problems. Everytime she doesn't know what to do she refers back to her favorite female dectective Ruby Redford. Clarice and her friends are pretty imature. She whines when she doesn't get her way and she is just pretty childish. But, I think that there is a Clarice Bean in all of us. Clarice bean is defenately "exceptionordinary". ( )

This book is absulutly woderful because Clarice gets to be in her favorite Telivision show but she didn't even know she was in it until she walked in to the eggplant store. Read this book because it is terrific and funny with a blast of a ton of vocabulary by READING this wonderful BOOK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ( )

The delightful Clarice Bean appears in several picture books by Lauren Child, and her first chapter book "Utterly Me, Clarice Bean".
This time, Clarice is in non-stop trouble these days, almost as much as Karl Wrenbury, and he is the naughtiest boy in school. Someone who is very good at getting OUT of trouble is Ruby Redfort, a girl detective on TV. Clarice would love to be famous on TV. She says, "I am really daydreaming about how when we have our school play, I might get spotted by one of those people who spots children for being talents. You see, if I was a child star, then I wouldn't have to be in Mrs. Wilberton's stupid spelling bee." - jacket notes from the Scholastic edition.
Clarice writes in her "exceptionordinary" Ruby Redfort notebook, signs up for a drama class, and learns new words from the dictionary, one letter at a time. Her days are never dull, and the story is laugh-out-loud funny. Highly recommended for good readers aged 7 to 9. 19 chapters, 189 pages. ( )

Clarice Bean is worried about a lot of things- the spelling bee, her part in the school play, and her friend, Karl Wrenbury. She’s studying the dictionary, taking acting, and trying to solve a mystery like Ruby Redfort. In the end she discovers Karl’s secret, helps him out, and misses out on acting in the school play to act in a movie instead. ( )

The quirky Clarice Bean is in for a spell of trouble — and shares a lesson about kindness — in this hilarious, full-length follow-up to UTTERLY ME, CLARICE BEAN.

Clarice Bean seems to be in nonstop trouble these days, almost as much as Karl Wrenbury, who is the naughtiest boy at school. If only she could be more like her favorite book character, Ruby Redfort, girl detective, who is very good at getting out of trouble. The problem is, Mrs. Wilberton is planning a spelling bee, and just thinking about it gives Clarice a stomachache. The good news is that there is also going to be a class performance of THE SOUND OF MUSIC, and Clarice is exceptionordinarily keen on landing a starring role, so she can get discovered by someone who spots child talents and escape spelling-bee humiliation. But when Karl Wrenbury has a family problem and gets into really big trouble, Clarice does something utterly unexpected, altruistically proving Ruby Redfort's maxim "Never let a good pal down."

The superbly talented Lauren Child returns with another fast-paced, full-length adventure full of wacky wit, visual appeal, and a surprisingly heartwarming twist sure to reel in the most reluctant reader — and the most inventive speller.
