Lobel's illustrations are so simple and delightful. His stories are the kind of quiet little bits of small happiness we all need once in a while.

This book was great. Arnold Lobel has such a wonderful whimsical grip of the English language in this writing that it rolls rhythmically off of the tongue so effortlessly. I highly recommend it because it is fun even if you are not a juvenile reader. :)

My first exposure to this book, believe or not, was when I went entered university in 1992. The lead singer of the band I had created in college, Wymsikal Triod, challenged me to write a song that involved this classic children's story. For more about the concert that featured that performance check out my blog post at:

This book is a great book for children to read because it shows them what true friendship looks like and most children are learning how to be friends when growing up. Children should read this because it is a happy story that they can relate to. ( )

This is a great story about two friends. It would be a great book to use in a friendship text set. You can also look this book up on YouTube and listen to and watch the images. ( )

[b:Frog and Toad|18085528|Frog and Toad Storybook Treasury 4 Complete Stories in 1 Volume!|Arnold Lobel|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1375144266l/18085528._SX50_.jpg|25396166] are wonderful, full stop. It's a collection of collections, with 4 parts, each of which has a handful (5?) of short stories. You can read the individual stories or go through them all back to back (as I did over the last few nights). The stories are thematically related, but there's no real plot between them, so no reason to read them in any particular order.

I think my favorite part of reading this is sharing just how wonderful the relationship between Frog and Toad is. They may argue sometimes, but they're always supportive in the end and really great friends. Also, I love doing voices. For me Toad ended up with a deep 'toadlike' voice and Frog somehow ended up being Mouse from the Matrix... Who knows.

Give it a read. They're adorable. ( )
