The first part of the book tell of the Passion from the eyes of Christ. Goes from the last supper through the resurrection. Some confusing issues about a new species of people being made. The last part tells the story as seen in the gospels. ( )

This was an interesting read. It is Christ telling his last few days of life. There is one kind of strange part but everything else sounded plausible. I received a copy from bookfun.org for a fair and honest opinion. ( )

Deeply Moving Account

This is the first time I have read a book by Gene Edwards. It is a work of fiction about the day Christ was crucified, told in words which Jesus might have spoken during that time. I wasn't sure what to expect of the book, but I could not put it down after I began. I received it in the mail, sat down to read in the evening, and finished the book in one sitting. It captured my attention from the first page.

There is an easy flow to the book, yet it is extremely moving and touching. As it is a work of fiction, the words of Christ are only the author's suggestion of what could have happened if one had lived during that time period and had actually been able to converse with and listen to Jesus. There are scripture references at the end of the book which coincide with the message of the story. It is a story which stirs emotion and understanding. It is an excellent read anytime during the year, but I think it would be an extremely powerful book to read each year during the season of Lent. I plan to do exactly that, and am certain I will be touched by something new each time I read the story.

Now that I have become familiar with the author, I plan to look for other books he has written. As for this work, I highly recommend reading the account of the day Christ was crucified. It is insightful, inspirational, and well worth the reader's time.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher, through The Book Club Network (bookfun.org) in exchange for my honest review. ( )
