Erotica with a paranormal twist is how I would best describe this book. It's all about second chances, and actually getting that second chance. In this case to literally save the life of someone you could seriously fall in love with but who you've just met. The romance unfolds beautifully between the hero and heroine, and I loved that the heroine is the one having the save the hero in places (she's a cop). Great suspense, too, that kept me turning the pages. ( )

On Christmas Eve Baltimore cop Mandy Delinski meets hot bartender Josh. The next day he ends up in the morgue as a victim of a mob hit because he was about to testify against a mafia family. One magical New Year's Eve Mandy gets the chance to go back one week in time and do her best to find the hitmen before her new boyfriend dies again.

The sex in this book was v. hot although the dirty talk didn't really do it for me. I loved the fact that Mandy was a full-figured woman who came to appreciate her luscious body, but it was very irritating how she kept on turning every compliment into a put-down about herself even after she knew how much Josh loved her.
