This stuff is true chicken soup for the soul. The stories are fun and feel-good, and it's a nice change of pace for a homesick Canadian. ( )

I love the Vinyl Cafe stories. I could read them again and again and never bore of them. This was another wonderful volume of fantastic stories. I liked the themes (Passion, Double Lives, Lies and Betrayal, Civil Disobedience, and Arson, Theft and Petty Crime) and how the stories fell into each category. I was particular fond of Kenny Wong's Practical Jokes (which had me laughing out loud) and Dad Is Dying. And best of all, I could practically hear Stuart reading the stories to me - almost as good as Stuart actually reading them to me :) ( )

This series of collected Vinyl Cafe stories gets better with each new release. While there still are one or two weaker stories in this latest book, the other stories are some of the funniest that were aired on the radio. My personal favourites are Kenny Wong's Practical Jokes, and Sam the Athlete. I have been waiting for both of these stories to be released in print for quite a while.

This is best non-cynical comedy writing that I have come across. It will make you laugh out loud without resorting to crude humour or tasteless jokes. ( )

All the favorite characters are there: Dave, Morley, Stephanie, Sam, the Turlingtons and Carl the neighbour. The stories are divided in categories with a special emphasis on crime. A hearty laugh garanteed, a few lessons to be learned and a great deal of compassion. ( )
