I tried, but this book really lost me from about the first chapter, in which the main character learned a whole new language in about two days, without any magical or scientific aide. Sorry...no.

He (the main character) is also rather an idiot. Ok, I grant that he's been thrown into a new and strange situation, but he has a tendency to jump to some very odd conclusions on the one hand, but at other times get exactly the right conclusion on half the information. I give up. ( )

Nicely done parallel world fantasy that feels at times like a restrained Amber tale. I feel like Ramsay and Corwin would have a lot to talk about if they ever met each other.

Book description
From the Back:

Vivid, disturbing, strangely coherent dreams haunted Ramsay Kimball's nights - dreams that hypnotically drove him to wreck his car...only to awaken in the alien world of his nightmares - a very real world, now, where he was Prince Kaskar of Ulad, the focus of a complex, unscrupulous, and deadly game of power.

A wonderous tale of scienc fiction adventure by Andre Norton
