3882. Great Rivers of Europe; introduction by Alan Bullock (read 25 Apr 2004) This is a 1966 coffee-table book, made up of essays on 10 European rivers, with many illustrations. The essays on the Rhine, by Christopher Sykes, and on the Seine I thought particularly good. But the book has no bibliography nor any footnotes nor anything telling why the authors of the various essays are qualified to tell what they tell. ( )
