I've not read Blue Shoes yet, but I agree Precious is a good character. ... John Fante's startlingly good novel Ask the Dust last month, the first book of his I'd ever read, and now have Full of Life on my new year's reading list, along with two others of his as well. And I could kick myself now because about 6 years ago I had a chance to pick up a first ...
