( )Awaking after a lengthy coma, Faith Parker has no memory of her near-fatal crash, of her previous life, or of her friend, journalist Dinah Leighton, who mysteriously vanished after visiting her in the hospital. This book reached out and grabbed me and didn't let me go until I finished it in one sitting. The story was not entirely believable, but it was so well written, you couldn't help but want to figure out what was going on. Kay Hooper does have an odd tendency to not describe the character who ends up being the guilty party, so the reader is left suprised and almost unsatisfied that they didn't get a chance to really get to like or dislike a character. The guilty party ends up being too one-dimensional. I find myself suspecting all the wrong people - the characters that are more complete - because I really want to be able to love, hate, and dissect the brain of the killer. While this book wasn't satisfying in all means, the main characters were likeable although a little flat. The story was well thought out and flowed nicely. All in all, this is a good book to read on a rainy afternoon or on the beach when you have nothing better to do. Faith wakes up from a coma and discovers that Dinah, her friend is missing and passing messages on in her dreams. Good read with a good twist in the end. no reviews | add a review
