The story is about The Event Group, a super secret US organization that is "...dedicated to uncovering the hidden truths behind the myths and legends propagated throughout world history..." In this case, the story revolves around the Roswell Incident that began in 1947 and sees another alien encounter now.
Since this is the first Event Group book, I was more forgiving for its slowness early on because author David Lynn Golemon was taking his sweet time building out the Group, its hierarchy, and characters. I like more fast-paced storytelling and Golemon finally proves he can do that towards the end. I hope the next book doesn't take as long to get off the ground. If so, I'll stop reading the series. ( )
