Synopsis: Being the police chief of Santa Fe isn’t easy for Kevin Kerney; neither is being in a long-distance relationship. Adding to his discomfort is the heavy-handed involvement of the FBI et al in the analysis of the murder of an ambassador’s estranged wife. Trying to get ‘straight answers’ in a timely manner is not in the FBI’s prevue, although wet work seems to be.
Review: This is another intriguing story from Michael McGarrity. There are a couple of spots with draggy narrative, but overall it’s a very well written and easily readable book. ( )
