Great story! I can't wait for Remi's book. Chay is shocked to discover that his mate is a blonde, blue-eyed male. Keaton is wary of his new mate's acceptance. ( )

I really can't recommend this books. I wanted to like it. It promised me everything I love in a book - slash, werewolves and lots of drama to be exact - but it just wouldn't work for me. The characters were boring and one-dimensional. The adorable puppy took up too much room despite being utterly unimportant to the story (the author has dogs herself, which showed a lot). The slash was there, the werewolves were as well, but the lycanthropy could have very well been left out. The drama, well ...

This book lacks any kind of conflict. The author promises lots of it, but they all just disappear into nothingness and steamy sex as soon as they are mentioned. The character thought he was hetero? No problem, he'll come around within a chapter. The character's mother doesn't want her son to go out with a white guy? She starts loving him very fast. The other character's parents hate homosexuals? That was all a big misunderstanding. And it goes on like that. To top it all of, the plot underwent a significant shift - while at first I was expecting a supernatural lovestory that was present in a first half of the book, it ended up being something of an attempted murder mystery (the potential killer was far too obvious, though).

The author didn't quite know what she wanted, or so it seems to me.

The sex scenes are technically well written and at least the first one is very hot, but after a while, I started wishing for a decent story and characterisation which seemed to have suffered because of the sex. ( )

What a terrific story-heartwarming, interesting, funny and sexy as hell. Chay,a Native American, a Vet and a werewolf, picks up a wounded White wolf--and realizes this wolf is his mate. Chay has been dreaming of finding his mate all of his life. A woman with Blonde hair and blue eyes, much to the chagrin of his Mother, who wants him to choose a Native American woman , with dark looks.
Upon further nspection, the White Wolf turns out to be a male. Chay is blown away, he is straight, so why is he feeling this sexual, romantic attraction? Enter,Keaton, the blond blue eyed gay man, who starts to disrupt Chay's straight world. Highly recommended. ( )

This is a wonderful paranormal gay romance! The main characters have great chemistry, and the story is fast paced. Chay is a werewolf who has just discovered his new mate is male. And, despite the tag line, this isn't about a straight man being "turned gay" by true love. Chay has had relationships with women, but he has also experimented a little with men. Once he gets over the suprise of having a male mate, he works to make a life with Keaton. The werewolf aspect of the story is not the main focus, but it provides a nice backdrop, as well as a verhicle for the mystery of Keaton's very dangerous stalker.

Like many gay romances, there is a lot of angst as the men overcome obstacles. But, there is also a lot of humor, especially as Chay begins to "woo" Keaton. Langley is an excellent writer. There is frequent hot sex, which I didn't find repetitive, but the two men also build their relationship outside the bedroom. Many have criticized this for being too cliche, with a weak plot. I think that's being overly harsh - this is a romance, not a mystery, and the focus should reflect it. Chay and Keaton are likeable men, who make a loving couple which is the heart of any romance.

This is part of a loosely connected series called the "With or Without" series. The first story, "With Love," can be found in the anthology "Hearts from the Ashes" and features alpha werewolf Devlin and his new mate, the omega Laine (both of whom are mentioned in this story). The next book, "With Caution" is the stpory of Remi and Jake and is coming soon. I enjoyed this book so much, I purchased the paperback even though I already owned the e-book. I highly recommend all the books by this author. ( )
