This French language book "The black code and other texts of laws about slavery" includes the original laws governing the practice of slaveholding in the France and its territories. Collection of declarations, judgments and code written from 1685 to 1848 under Louis XIV then modified under Louis XV from original documents, concerning the rules of law relating to the slave trade in black slaves in the French islands of the West Indies. Reproduction of historical documents allowing to apprehend the life of the black slaves and their masters, their relation and the rights and the duties which they had towards the others.
