Use for Pre-K and Kindergarten when children are learning the letters of the alphabet. Each page of the book has a photograph of a dog and a word associated with each picture. There is one page for each letter of the alphabet. For example, the letter C has a photo of a dog catching a ball and the word "catch" is printed on the page. Addresses learning letters, words associated with dogs, children's interests. Use in the classroom to teach the letters of the alphabet, cater to children's interests, and to teach vocabulary that is associated with dogs. In groups, students could choose a different animal and make their own A to Z animal books.

-Arf! Beg! Catch! is about different types of dogs and what they do. They use the dogs for the Alphabet. for example (Arf for A Beg for B Catch for C)
-This book would be good about learning different types of animals. The kids can choose their own animal and use the alphabet of what they do.
-They also can draw pictures to help them memorize the alphabet
-I also would do a lesson for 3 or 4 days about animals which could lead into the alphabet by using this book.

Dog lovers everywhere will enjoy Arf! Beg! Catch! It's photographs are crisp and entertaining. The text is large and simple, as suits an ABC book. Each letter is shown in upper and lower case with a dog-related word at the bottom of the page. The front and back endpapers have many more photos to keep fans happy. My daughter is happily immersed in "reading" this book. She points to the letters first, saying the letter, then points to the word and says it. Her current favourite is "mutt" with a very happy-looking, white all-breed. An excellent ABC book for preschoolers and dog-fans alike. ( )
