The Mouse Guard comics by David Petersen are absolutely gorgeous (and who doesn't love mice with swords?). I also really enjoyed Peanutbutter and Jeremy's Best Book Ever! by James Kochalka. Both I think are probably age appropriate.

I recently purchased Mouse Guard Volume 1: Fall 1152 and enjoyed that immensely. I think it probably read better as individual issues, but it's still a well-written story and the art is beautiful. The second storyline is being released right now as individual issues, Mouse Guard, Winter 1152
