Just watched the trailer of the movie, and I had to think of the charakter Walter Dangerfield in Philip K. Dicks Dr. Bloodmoney, or how we got along after the bomb (mostly because of the fact that a character is out there on his own, without contact to other human beings) ... )
* Dark Genesis: The Birth of the Psi Corps by J. Gregory Keyes (the other Psi Corps novels were much better though.)
* Dr. Bloodmoney by PKD
* DiLEMmas by Stanislaw Lem (nonfiction) (His late nonfiction by and large is awful and falls into the "get off my lawn" genre. At least the ... ... the list on my 50 book challenge to pick out my 2008 favorites. The Landmark Herodotus was my favorite of the year. Dr. Bloodmoney or How We Got Along after the Bomb is a very imaginative science fiction novel by Philip K. Dick. Dark Star and Night Soldiers are very well written ... Dr. Bloodmoney Philip K. Dick - this is another book of Dick's that I love. It's basically about some of the nutty characters that live in the world after an apocalypse. I loved the mad nuclear scientist, Dr. Bluthgeld, and the conjoined twin. 5/5.
Earth Abides Gerorge R. Stewart - a virus ... No. 35 Dr. Bloodmoney or How We Got Along After the Bomb 223 pages (13,945 total pages). This is an excellent book. The science fiction aspects of the plot are interwoven with good character development to provide an entertaining and thought provoking story.

... LoA will be doing a second volume of Philip K. Dick: once again edited by Lethem, and to include Martian Time-Slip, Dr. Bloodmoney, Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said, and Now Wait for Last Year. ... at shortlists is often better.
