It is hard to see what Abby sees in Cary. He is obnoxious and overbearing. Vice-versa, why does Cary go for Abby when she is so obviously put off by his approach.

This book really need more introspection on the part of the characters to make their motivations more apparent. Also, as the relationship advanced, it would have been nice if the couple could have relaxed around each other, instead of continuing to bicker.

The subplot of Juliet and Geoffrey was also hard to take for the same reasons - no clear emotional attachements. Why are they together? ( )
