I
have to say that I thought that is was a book about a girl having sex. Lots of sex. I should have known better and read it sooner beacause if there is sexy scenes, it's more than anything a funny and well-constructed story about a girl who doesn't like what she is. In a fantastic world where angels and demons live incognito with humans.

I really liked this book. It's a bit predicable but the story is compelling and keeps the reader scotched to the pages. It's well paced ans it's more than a traditional love story. There are shades of grey, nothing is all good or all bad. Even angels and demons. I loved Georgina's lines and laughed out loud at certain scenes. I have to say that I'm falling for one of the characters but everyone of them is interesting.

A good read.
Really. I'll read the sequels. That miraculously appeared in my shopping cart. Funny thing, isn't it? ( )

I feel that I should mention somewhere that my Vaginal Fantasy star rating is different than my normal reading star rating. :) (Basically, this book is 4 stars for the VF genre not overall.)

Georgina is a succubus living in Seattle. She doesn't really like her job but she does it. For fun she works in her local bookstore and is looking forward to her favorite author coming to do a book signing. After some hilarious introductions Georgina and Seth (her favorite author) become friends while Roman (a scape-goat Georgina has acquired) becomes a steamy love interest. Suddenly, Georgina's supernatural friends start being targeted and killed. But who is killing them and why?

The author creates great plot twists and keeps you guessing as to who the killer is and you aren't sure you are correct until the last chapter.

I really enjoyed this book and I can see myself picking up the next title in the series. Also the steamy scenes where quite good! ;) ( )

Review: OMG this was such a fun beginning to a new series for me. I really liked Georgina--she was smart, sassy, and works in a book store. The fact that she is a Succubus well that is just her life. She does really have 2 bosses: her succubus boss (who knew that came with quotas) and her bookstore boss. She has a great set of friends and one messy love life. The storyline was fantastic at setting the pace for the series and I can't wait to see where things go in Georgina's life. I was sad at the twist at the end of book 1 but I am hoping as the series plays out that there is some changes with that character. All in all just a fantastic beginning to what I am sure will go on my favorite series list!

PS--since the whole series is out ---I put the rest of them on my Christmas list :)

I liked this book a lot more than I imagined I would. I'm not really a hardcore urban fantasy fan, I much prefer series like this with the softer, chick-lit style writing complete with witty dialogue and hot immortal men. Georgina Kincaid is a very likeable heroine, not a pretentious do-gooder but nice enough that you care about what happens to her.

This first novel in the series is full of steamy sex, hilariously quotable writing and a supernatural mystery to form the background plot. What more can you really want? Granted, it's not a book that will change your life or give you anything particularly deep to think about, but it is fun and enjoyable. My main criticism would be I suspected the outcome of the nephilim murder mystery about halfway through the book... but never mind, I can't wait to read book 2. ( )

Amazon.com Product Description (ISBN 0758216416, Paperback)

Succubus (n.) An alluring, shape-shifting demon who seduces and pleasures mortal men. Pathetic (adj.) A succubus with great shoes and no social life. See: Georgina Kincaid.

When it comes to jobs in hell, being a succubus seems pretty glamorous. A girl can be anything she wants, the wardrobe is killer, and mortal men will do anything just for a touch. Granted, they often pay with their souls, but why get technical?

But Seattle succubus Georgina Kincaid's life is far less exotic. Her boss is a middle-management demon with a thing for John Cusack movies. Her immortal best friends haven't stopped teasing her about the time she shape-shifted into the Demon Goddess getup complete with whip and wings. And she can't have a decent date without sucking away part of the guy's life. At least there's her day job at a local bookstore--free books; all the white chocolate mochas she can drink; and easy access to bestselling, sexy writer, Seth Mortensen, aka He Whom She Would Give Anything to Touch but Can't.

But dreaming about Seth will have to wait. Something wicked is at work in Seattle's demon underground. And for once, all of her hot charms and drop-dead one-liners won't help because Georgina's about to discover there are some creatures out there that both heaven and hell want to deny...

"What an incredible debut novel! Succubus Blues is exciting, witty, sexy, intriguing and had me captivated from the first page." --Cheyenne McCray, author of Seduced by Magic
