As always with this series there are many twists and turns. The main plays of Pytheon are being targeted and Seth and Stone have called in reinforcements to keep their families safe. Enter Jett Jones Smith, and has he caught Dr. Samantha Stone's eye. But he's the kind of guy she can't risk falling for because running headlong into danger is his forte and Sam cannot afford to lose her heart to him only to lose him altogether because of the nature of his work. The Recruiter along with a serial killer obsessed with Sam in double danger. But having to depend on Jett the way she does puts her in danger of another kind.

A quick read, less romance than carnal attraction is the primary plot, with the mystery, action, adventure and serial killings coming off as a setting. To me it was the inverse of a James Bond genre. With that being said, this book in no way comes near comparison to any of Ian Flammengs works.

This book seems somewhat amateurish and not my cup of tea. I wouldn’t have finished it if I wasn’t reviewing it. ( )

In this book, Dr. Samantha Stone received death threats from international criminal, The Recruiter. As the best security expert at Pytheon International, Jett Smith-Jones makes it his duty to keep her safe. That means being with her every hour of the day. Doesn’t sound too hard. And it wasn’t until Sam and Jett had trouble fighting their attraction for each other.

This story has constant action with Jett trying to keep Sam safe throughout. With two villains after her, Jett had his hands full keeping her alive. That got even harder once this couple gave into their attraction. Will their new relationship jeopardize their safety? Since they couldn’t stop thinking about each other, it’s quite possible. They were constantly thinking "got to have him/her" so Jett’s mind was definitely not on his work all the time.

While this book was full of action and steamy romance, there was so much going on with 2 bad guys after Sam and so many characters that it was hard to keep everything straight.

If you like books with lots of steam and action, this is for you.

In the Line of Fire by Joss Wood turned out to be a different genre than I thought. This is a romance novel. Not my kind of story.

The story line is about a former military special operator who is now working personal security. He is brought in over a potential kidnapping and threats against a wealthy family. He is assigned to take protect a rich young woman.

The story has the potential to be a good thriller along the lines of a Brad Thor if all of the thoughts and actions related to romance were removed. This is the type of book I thought I was getting when I read the description. None of the characters would need to change, just drop the romance part of the novel between the protector and protectee.
