Loading... With Caution (2008)by J.L. Langley
None. This is why I bought the series in the first place. I've read Langley before and really enjoyed her writing. I just don't think the first 2 books lived up to her potential. However, this book was amazing!!! Loved Remi! He was the best brother, an amazing friend, hard worker, and tender lover. Jake was all alpha but in a nice, protective, supportive way. Lots of steam in this one but not too much. These two were perfect for each other. I loved the suspenseful plot which had me ripping through the pages to see what would happen next. I loved watching the pack interact with each other including playing ball and pool. I also loved the other characters including Sterling and Rhys. This is why I bought the series in the first place. The dynamics between Jake and Remi is just perfect. The love and caring that they express for each other is just so real. I couldn't put it down the first time that I read the story and now I think I have read the book four times since I first bought it. Cause what every homophobic victim of abuse wants is for a big strong biker man to come and dominate him. Throw in a 26 year old finding out a 14 year old boy is his mate and I'm officially skeeved! no reviews | add a review

The conflict between the main characters was resolved a little too easily, especially when one of the two was apparently very homophobic in the previous book. I also don't get why he's immediately so submissive to the other one (especially since he was abused before). The author explains this as a werewolf thing, but her werewolf mythology isn't really developed well and she seems to use it to her convenience in order to explain stuff that she can't find other explanations for. I also get the sense that she probably hasn't researched that much about actual wolves.
I ended up trying to read the previous two in the series, and found them rather cringe-inducing. I don't think this series is for me.
On a positive note, though, I did like how the two brothers cared so much about each other and looked out for each other. It was very sweet and their relationship was a lot more fun and interesting than the actual couple! (
