The Slaves of Solitude ... ... interesting seeing a different, more mystical spin on Sherlock Holmes stories. Of course, nothing beats Mitch Cullins' A Slight Trick of the Mind when it comes to Holmesian tributes, but hey, I haven't read a fun mystery in forever. ... Holmes, a charming collection of Holmesiana, primarily from the 1930s, by Vincent Starrett. Four stars. Half of A Slight Trick of the Mind, good enough I may go back to it.

To various posters, above: you've convinced me. I'll look out A Slight Trick of the Mind this year. Ozzie, I think I mentioned in another thread how much I'd liked Cullin's A Slight Trick of the Mind, really an exceptional novel, and only last year I got all three volumes of The New Annotated Sherlock Holmes, with all the novels in one volume and every one of the short stories in the other ... ... be sure to read some of Laurie King, starting with The Beekeeper's Apprentice. I' ... Hi OzzieJello, and I'm a big fan of Mitch Cullin's A Slight Trick of the Mind too, really a smart little book. I'm listening to the first Artemis Fowl, am almost finished it and will soon be starting A Slight Trick of the Mind.
