Clare Cosi's cozy life is interupted by a man knocked out near her shop. The man is her husband's partner in developing a botanically decaffeinated coffee bean, with the potential to be a huge money spinner. However bodies associated with the entire affair start accumulating.

It really didn't have a sense of peril or suspense (apart from wondering for a while who was going to die) and really seemed to putter along like a long-running series that is depending on familiarity rather than suspense in keeping reading going.

Overall not bad but not great. ( )

I liked this series so far I have read all that have been published, A nice cozy mystery, with coffee tips and romance a bit. Does get slightly repetitive when you hit the middle of the series but I always learned something new about coffee and recipes in the back. I would recommend for anyone who likes cozy's. ( )

Very much an interesting read, and the pace was kept on the go throughout the entire book. However, I did get a bit confused at times between all of the theories presented in the book, and I really got annoyed with the ex-husband for not being upfront and honest about what he was doing. Overall, good book and worth reading! ( )

I've now read all of the books available so far in this series, and I will watch for more as she continues to write. Clare's ex-husband is, of course, annoying -- aren't all exes? Her ex-mother-in-law is a charmer. Her relationship with her daughter is annoying, if realistic. Maybe it's annoying *because* it's realistic! These books are light and amusing, which is just what I was looking for. The last book of the series is a bit better than the earlier ones, so perhaps the author is growing into her series. ( )

Too much heavy handed hammering home of Coyle's intimate knowledge of the NY "scene" drags down this otherwise enjoyable entry into the Coffeehouse mystery series. ( )
