I enjoyed looking through this cookbook for recipes to cook for myself. I saved a couple of them in Evernote to try later, the Lentil Sloppy Joes and a spinach and artichoke dip. One of the common threads in the recipes, I noticed, was using a skillet to pre-cook before mixing everything together in the slow cooker. I guess this shows that I'm accustomed to just opening cans and dumping the contents into a crockpot, then shaking in a few spices. Time to try cooking in two pots/pans instead of one! :-) ( )

There are a few great recipes in this book, but a good number of them are somewhat bland and uninspiring. Too many of these recipes are not genuine slow cooker recipes, they require a good deal of advanced cooking before the final step of putting them in a slow cooker occurs. ( )
