Moving on to a quick, light romance, Nora Robert's High Noon. Just finished Nora Roberts' Northern Lights and am half-way through High Noon. My fiance snagged my copy of Twilight, so I'll read that when he's through. Of the four new movies, I agree that High Noon was probably the best. Midnight Bayou came in second, Northern Lights third and Tribute last.
I couldn't watch Angels Fall and never got around to Blue Smoke. Carolina Moon was done well, though I didn't like the actor they picked to ... ... will never be considered fine literature but here are a few that I enjoyed. I tend to like her mysteries the most.
High Noon, the In the Garden trilogy, The Chesapeake Bay saga, The Three Sisters Island trilogy, Northern Lights and The Irish trilogy. ... this movie, in particular, was really chopped up and did not capture the essence of the book.
As far as I'm concerned, High Noon was the only one of the four that was worth watching. I haven't watched Tribute yet (I recorded it), but I didn't like that book as well as some of her others. I think High Noon was one of her best books.
CC- If you get the chance to see High Noon (not sure when it will re-air), you may like it. I thought the two stars had a lot of ... #10. High Noon by Nora Roberts 4 stars
I was happy to read another Nora Roberts, since I used to read her so frequently, and have moved other directions lately. I was good to get into one of her stories again, and as always, she delivered. This was a book that combined some mystery and ... bookbeat, totally agree! High Noon was great. I'm currently watching Tribute, am part way through it and am already disappointed. I'll reserve judgment 'til I've seen it all but so far, it's not quite holding up to it's predecesor :) ... three sisters trilogy - I loved those books! I'm looking forward to Tribute, but I think it's going to be hard to top High Noon. I got the chance to watch High Noon over the weekend. I think it's the best yet! Anyone else see it? ... Midnight Bayou by Nora Roberts last night, it was very good, two others of her movies will be on lifetime as well High Noon and Tribute ... of them. I will have to wait, my mom is recording them for me... I don't get that channel.
I am looking forward to High Noon the most, I really enjoyed that book.
Thanks for the information. ... I just saw an ad for the one on Amazon, but the full four that exiledlibrarian mentioned are: Northern Lights, Tribute, High Noon and Midnight Bayou. Finished High Noon by Nora Roberts and have started Stalemate by Iris Johansen... 11. High Noon byNora Roberts
Enjoyed this stand-alone by Ms. Roberts - her dialogue is always entertaining and the stories usually race along... ... Roberts's books coming out as movies on lifetime TV soon:
Northern Lights on March 21
Midnight Bayou on March 28
High Noon on April 4
Tribute on April 11
I've read them all except Northern Lights which was a did not finish for me book; maybe I'll pick it back up & try it again. 14. High Noon by Nora Roberts

sigh ... Quinn and Kenyon. I also love Suzanne Brockmann, but Victoria Alexander and Liz Carlyle don't do anything for me.
High Noon turned out to be very good (for me), though I could have done without the scene involving the ex-husband. ... the English trying to fight off the Danes/Vikings and I really like her writing.
Now I've started Nora Roberts's High Noon, which I was so excited to find in paperback recently. So far it's really good. I can't believe it took me so long to even try Nora Roberts; I just assumed she ... ... too long to get their hands on the new book. I imagine that it only happens with fiction from hot authors (Nora Roberts's High Noon had 260 people ahead of me when I requested it; took about three weeks to get to me).
It's pretty fair, I think. If you're so anxious to read a new book, you'r ... ... guess my taste is just...odd. Because I am a huge fan of romantic suspense, but I though both Up Close and Dangerous and High Noon were ghastly. Both by exceptional authors, but neither deserving of particular honors.
*sigh* I read a few 4.5 star books in Oct. (Ghost Map (non-fiction), High Noon, a romance thriller by Nora Roberts, and Many Bloody Returns, Tales of Birthdays with Bite, a collection of short horror stories, but only one 5 star book, a non-fiction. Here's my review of it from the 50-Book Challenge ... 90. High Noon by Nora Roberts. 4.5 stars. May be one of her best. I almost gave it a 5, but there was one little part that wasn't quite right and niggled at me, so I couldn't. Still, it was really well written, entertaining, lovely different kind of hero, and exciting story. I liked it ... Taking a break from Justinian's Flea, which is pretty heavy going in parts, though terribly interesting, to read High Noon by Nora Roberts. Typical Roberts, which to me (as scaifea said of Stephen King) means highly entertaining. May be one of her best ones, though I'm only halfway ... ... the Spring. Good enough for me to read them all within the last 10 days and I am not crazy about westerns!
And I read High Noon this week too. I enjoyed it but it is quite violent. ... Gregory

37 - The Queen's Fool: A Novel Philippa Gregory
38 - High Noon Nora Roberts

Woohoo!! I've finally started High Noon - page 230 of the huuuuge UK hardback edition.
Will get back to it after work now. LOL Well I finished off imitation in death this morning, then quickly read midnight in death becuase I have high noon waiting on my tbr pile and I really shouldn't start another book until Monday... but.... I feel myself weakening! :oS ... she went to hardcover...she's gone downhill. I found her last four books or so not up to par. Oh well.
Read High Noon and didn't like that one either. I guess everyone has a bad day...even Nora Roberts. ... waiting for the crowds to go down for the movie, but I'll be picking up my copy of Deathly Hallows Saturday.
Just before High Noon was released I looked at my library's waiting list for it: 240 names on there. Even at only one week maximum check-out time, that's 4+ years! Oh I'm really looking forward to High Noon now! I have it on order at the library, hopefully not too long to wait now. :oS
Currently still plowing through the In Death series - now on Reunion in Death. I finished High Noon by Nora Roberts last night. It's one of her best books & I highly recommend it. It has everything - a great story, wonderful romance, police procedural, fabulous secondary characters, suspense, mystery, humor, & Robert's signature smart, snappy dialog. I savored every ... I just finished High Noon by Nora Roberts & I think it's one of her best books ever. Next up is Sleeping With Fear by Kay Hooper. Just finished Missing by Sharon Sala (a book I dug out of the tbr pile); it was okay. Next up High Noon by Nora Roberts; it really sounds good.
Only a few days before the release of Linda Howard's new book Up Close and Dangerous - can't wait! High Noon is available now from ereader.com - for some reason her books show up in electronic form a week early - the last J D Robb was there early too. It is a sneaky tactic, since I end up buying both the ebook at close to hardcover prices and the hardcover. But there are almost no ... xorscape, I'm looking forward to High Noon also - think you're right on the release date.
I'm really looking forward to the new Linda Howard - Up Close and Dangerous. Another one that looks pretty interesting if 'Scuse Me While I Kill This Guy by Leslie Langtry.
Also looking ... Did we mention High Noon by Nora Roberts in July? July 10th I think. ... you're enjoying it Alana, I prefer her more suspenseful books - really liked Angels Fall and I have her new one on order (High Noon)at the library... soon, hopefully, soon! Have you read Montana Sky, Blue Smoke and Northern Lights - really liked those as well.
