No current Talk conversations about this book. *I got this book from the publisher for my honest thoughts* I really enjoyed this book alot. I thought it was the prefect way to dive back into this world and give us a whole new story but still respect the other series and give nods to it. I just love the lead character so much and getting inside her head was such a fun experience. I loved the mixed cast of old characters and new and how they all balanced each other out. I thought the book was a fast pace adventure but such a solid mystery. I flew through his book and really hope we get future stories in this world because i just want to see more from these characters and this world. I really wanted to love this book as much as I loved the previous three books (and most of the novellas/short stories) buuuuuut....there were some parts that I loved and kept me interested but most of it seemed slow and kinda dragged on. :( It had a lot of filler/road-tripping that wasn't too interesting (especially compared to the previous books in the series). Also, this book left more unanswered questions than actually answered questions with that ending. Overall, I enjoyed the insight the book provided into the 'what happens next' from the original story but don't know think it has the same draw the original series had. Okay, typically I'm not a huge fan of spin-off books, but this one was done very well! And it actually was good to read about how things didn't necessarily end all peachy keen. There are so many YA books where the series finishes and everything is perfect! That wasn't the case and we see the true aftermath from the original trilogy in this book. Also, it's really cool to see Zu all grown up and speaking out for all of the Psy kids. Honestly, I gave it a 4 star rating simply because I really do feel like there could be less cussing. But, as I've mentioned in previous reviews, that may just be my personal opinion. I just hate when I can't listen to a book with my son because they're dropping f-bombs left and right. The storyline, however, was as action packed and intense as all of the books in the series! There's even a little bit of romance in there. As far as who I recommend reading it, I'd say those who like Dystopian, Fantasy, Superpowers, and Action. no reviews | add a review
