Armed with years of experience and a clear, charming and excruciatingly funny style, "the evil hippie in the skull sweater" gives a concise but not oversimplified account of a very diverse and peculiar subculture. A good thing for a worried parent of a baby bat to read, and an absolute must for any Goth who takes himself (and his wardrobe) too seriously. ( )Ever been curious as to why a bunch of people would dress in black (especially if one of those people is your child)? Or, do you want to learn how to write bad Goth poetry or to find your Goth style AND you have a sense of humor about yourself? Then this is the book for you. Voltaire does a wonderful job of tackling the concept of Goth for the uninitiated as well as the long-standing adoptees of this subculture. Utilizing anecdotes and humor, he gives his take on all things Goth: From the Goth name generator (for your identity with your Goth comrades) to the various styles of dress. As someone who has been part of the Goth scene for years, Voltaire offers a look into this subculture that entertains as well as informs. Great fun...I heart Voltaire! But I should have been in it dammit! *giggle* no reviews | add a review
