Voltaire just might be the best thing to come out of New Jersey since Thomas Edison invented the lightbulb. Armed with years of experience and a clear, charming and excruciatingly funny style, "the evil hippie in the skull sweater" gives a concise but not oversimplified account of a very diverse and peculiar subculture. A good thing for a worried parent of a baby bat to read, and an absolute must for any Goth who takes himself (and his wardrobe) too seriously. ( )
