Synopsis
Gregory Bridgerton has fallen in love... only the lady in question won't give him the time of day. Her friend, Lucy Abernathy, offers to help but falls for Gregory herself. Gregory ultimately realizes that Lucy is the one for him but she is unfortunately engaged to someone else. Will things ultimately work out for everyone involved?

Review
The Bridgertons is one of my favorite historical series and I was hoping it would end on a high note, but alas, On the Way to the Wedding is quite disappointing.

The plot borders on the ridiculous. It starts out as merely silly moves on to sad and depressing, then goes on to outright tragic and ends on completely implausible. It's almost as if Quinn ran out steam once she got to this book.

Nevertheless, the characters are excellent. Lucy is typical of Quinn's heroines - caring, generous and witty. While Gregory initially comes across as fickle, he does ultimately prove to be very dashing and extremely romantic. As always, Hyacinth is hysterically funny and it is worth reading the book if only for her cameo appearances.

The pace is slow for the first half but things pick up toward the end and the conclusion is quite exciting.

All in all, a worthwhile read despite its shortcomings and the epilogue leaves you with a smile as always. ( )

I Liked Gregory and Lucy right from the beginning. I did not really like how Quinn added "subtitles" to every chapter ie: chapter 12 - were our Hero and heroine have a strange discussion... this just took away from the book I think.. I like not knowing when something good is gonna happen. Overall though the book was still good. And I am glad there are some epilogue books to read as I am going to miss the Bridgertons! ( )

Gregory doesn't have a lot of time to shine in his sibling's stories - he's always away at school, so it was nice seeing his own story. I thought the conflict was a little random, but it wrapped up nicely enough. Really, I think the best thing about these books is the family, it's not something you see often in historical romances, but the way the family interacts and how much they love each other, it's just nice. Unlike most men of his acquaintance, Gregory Bridgerton believes in true love. And he is convinced that when he finds the woman of his dreams, he will know in an instant that she is the one. And that is exactly what happened. Except...

She wasn't the one. In fact, the ravishing Miss Hermione Watson is in love with someone else. But her best friend, the ever-practical Lady Lucinda Abernathy, wants to save Hermione from a disastrous alliance, so she offers to help Gregory win her over. But in the process, Lucy falls in love. With Gregory! Except...

Lucy is engaged. And her uncle is not inclined to let her back out of the betrothal, even once Gregory comes to his senses and realizes that it is Lucy, with her sharp wit and sunny smile, who makes his heart sing. And now, on the way to the wedding, Gregory must risk everything to ensure that when it comes time to kiss the bride, he is the only man standing at the altar...
