It's a good book of cake recipes, but I just can't stand Delia, she puts me in mind of a headmistress I had the misfortune to know! ( )

First published in 1977 with a young, page boy haired Delia smiling on the cover. A super compendium of cakes and baking with chapters of Sponge Cakes, Loaf Cakes and Tea Breads, Family Cakes, Wholefood Cakes, Chocolatey Cakes, Cakes for Occasions, Little Cakes, Biscuits, Pudding Cakes and Cheesecake - really, anything one can think of. No need to mention the reliability of the recipes, given the author.
