Lynn Flewelling's Tamir trilogy or Nightrunner books. Tamir is very dark fantasy and very intriguing. The Nightrunner books are lighter and particularly the first two are the quest type fantasy story.

... fun reading those books throughout high school. My more contemporary favorite fantasy stories are the Nightrunner and Tamir Trilogy books by Lynn Flewelling and Wen Spencer's Tinker and Wolf Who Rules. I also enjoy urban fantasy, but am not sure if we're talking "urban" in ...

unfufu in Read YA Lit : Teen Romance (Sep 20, 2009, 9:00pm)

Graceling is amazing, excellent romance. Also Tamir trilogy by Lyn Flewelling.

... Everyone that reads them seems to have either love it or hate it and I came in more on the love than the hate side. The Tamir Trilogy by Lynn Flewelling is another dark fantasy I'd suggest.

I've listed a few series because I can't pick just one book from them, but this is basically it: The Tamir Trilogy by Lynn Flewelling. Great dark fantasy trilogy with compelling characters. Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer, books 1-4. My son and I have listened to the first three ...

Berly- I added The Twin to the wishlist. It sounds very good. I have to rave about City of Thieves, another excellent read!

I'm looking forward to having my very own copy of The Twin. I actually started reading it in B&N (and it was really good) but started feeling guilty about it, so stopped.

The Twin. Ignore the touchstone, this one is by Gerbrand Bakker translated from the Dutch. I LOVED this one! I am hesitant to tell you why, because I might not do it justice. This is a subtle book. The relationship between father and son is disturbing and poignant. The loss of one's twin is ...

Despite a rocky start and frustrating ending to The Bone Doll's Twin, I'd say my favorite overall so far is the Tamir Trilogy by Lynn Flewelling as a whole. There's just something about her writing that I really enjoy.

... just loaned that book to a friend, but I happen to have 2 copies so I will be reading it along with Jeanne. Glad you liked The Bone Doll's Twin. I was very struck by it's uniqueness (and it wasn't a quest fantasy!)

Fourpawz-Thanks for selecting The Bone Doll's Twin for me which I have read and reviewed. After a rather rocky start it turned out to be a facinating read. I'm hoping to get out to the bookstore tomorrow to pick up the next of the series. After looking at all your TBRs I've decided on Cat Lo ...
