These are my favorite standouts from ... Lynn Flewelling's Tamir trilogy or Nightrunner books. Tamir is very dark fantasy and very intriguing. The Nightrunner books are lighter and particularly the first two are the quest type fantasy story. ... fun reading those books throughout high school.
My more contemporary favorite fantasy stories are the Nightrunner and Tamir Trilogy books by Lynn Flewelling and Wen Spencer's Tinker and Wolf Who Rules.
I also enjoy urban fantasy, but am not sure if we're talking "urban" in ... Graceling is amazing, excellent romance. Also Tamir trilogy by Lyn Flewelling. ... Everyone that reads them seems to have either love it or hate it and I came in more on the love than the hate side. The Tamir Trilogy by Lynn Flewelling is another dark fantasy I'd suggest. I've listed a few series because I can't pick just one book from them, but this is basically it:

9. Tinkers Har ... Berly- I added The Twin to the wishlist. It sounds very good. I have to rave about City of Thieves,another excellent read! I'm looking forward to having my very own copy of The Twin. I actually started reading it in B&N (and it was really good) but started feeling guilty about it, so stopped. The Twin. Ignore the touchstone, this one is by Gerbrand Bakker translated from the Dutch. I LOVED this one! I am hesitant to tell you why, because I might not do it justice. This is a subtle book. The relationship between father and son is disturbing and poignant. The loss of one's twin is ... Despite a rocky start and frustrating ending to The Bone Doll's Twin, I'd say my favorite overall so far is the Tamir Trilogy by Lynn Flewelling as a whole. There's just something about her writing that I really enjoy. ... to see the main character plumb the depths of her love/hate relationship with her mom.

Upon the Midnight Clear by Sherrilyn Kenyon ... The Bone Doll's Twin left off in such a way I felt compelled to run out buy and read Hidden Warrior. Also, partly due to our author birthday list above, I have picked out Bio of an Ogre, Piers Anthony's first biography, out from my tbr pile. Glad you liked The Bone Doll's Twin. I was very struck by it's uniqueness (and it wasn't a quest fantasy!) Fourpawz-Thanks for selecting The Bone Doll's Twin for me which I have read and reviewed. After a rather rocky start it turned out to be a facinating read. I'm hoping to get out to the bookstore tomorrow to pick up the next of the series.
After looking at all your TBRs I've decided on Cat Lo ... I'm continuing on with The Bone Doll's Twin by Lynn Flewelling although I think I'll have it done today. Then I think I'll be moving on to Enchantment by Orson Scott Card. ... years and I just mooched a copy yesterday! Glad to see that you enjoyed it.

Ex Libris: Confessions of a Commo ... ... you LOVE the first book in the series, and then are completely unwowed by the second. A great example of this for me was The Bone Doll's Twin by Lynn Flewelling. I LOVED that book, but the second left me cold. And I want to know what happens, but not enough to slog through. ... it fresh in my memory.
Next up will probably be Cup of Morning Shadows unless it's hiding with Guppies for Tea and The Bone Doll's Twin which wouldn't surprise me! Ah well, even if I don't find it I have plenty of books in Mount TBR at the moment, I'm just trying for a vaguely FIFO ...
