( )Great book! The moment I laid eyes on his book on the shelf and read the contents on the flap, that was enough for me to eagerly buy it, not just because it was a bargain book. I delayed reading it because I wanted to collect the books before it, belonging to the Troubleshooters series but I shoved the thought of reading it in sequence and just opened the first page. It has a promising start of history and I found myself turning the pages again and again. This book has an excellent mix of drama, action, mystery and suspense, sex, love, and relationships. Flashbacks here and there and a lot of correspondence through old-fashioned mail. I liked the characters and the way they argued, the tension is there, the past is brought up, there's silence, apologies and back to square one. The sequence of events was really nerve-wracking, it made me feel like I was watching a movie instead of reading a book because it really took me for a wild ride. The sex scenes are brilliantly written, and very creative, not too mention hot. There is a man vs man conflict, mostly intrapersonal because some characters are undecided on some actions they want to take, and actions they have to take. Another thing I liked about the characters are their streetsmarts, not just because of being a navy SEAL, but because their toughened by their pasts, which was detailed piece by piece by this remarkable author. I'm looking forward to collecting and reading the whole series. More a romance than a mystery. C- LOVED THIS BOOK! However, in order to really appreciate it, you must read some of the earlier books in this series. (At least Over The Edge and Into The Night) Sam & Alyssa's story, very satisfying read. no reviews | add a review
