... is just a simple, one night, comfort read, interestingly enough written by the same author as fleela's regular re-read Rilla of Ingleside. (I can't read Rilla very often, much as it is a favourite book, makes me cry too much!
Interestingly enough though this topic has been on my mind a ... There's really only one book I regularly reread, Rilla of Ingleside. So, since last posting, I've finished: Rainbow Valley, Rilla of Ingleside, The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe and Mary Poppins Comes Back. I cried again. I always do. And laughed. People who say Montgomery is fluffy and sickly sweet should read Rilla. This, in my opinion, is Montgomery's best novel. Her characters are full of life, and the funny ones are very funny. And Susan Bak ... ... Island

8. Rilla of Ingleside I think The Blue Castle is probably Maud's best novel. Rilla of Ingleside surprised me when I read it again recently; I had remembered it as stilted and jingoistic, but it isn't that at all. It's honest and heartbreaking, though I wish they hadn't been so hard on that pacifist. All of the Emi ... I think for me it's a tie between Anne of Green Gables and Rilla of Ingleside, but I have to admit that back when I was 12 I was quite taken with Magic for Marigold. I don't have that one in my collection, so I'm not sure if on a second venture I'd like it as much, but I thought it was worth ... I love The Golden Road and all of the Anne books, really, though particularly Anne of the Island and Rilla of Ingleside. I think I'm due for a reread, actually. :) ... for the rest of the series. The book also captures the beginning of their family with some heartbreak along the way.

In the past though Mrs Mike by Benedict and Nancy Freedman, Rilla of Ingleside, Lad, a dog and Wolf the latter two both by Albert Payson Terhune really got me going. ...

The Diary of a Young Girl ... the Anne of Green Gables books until I was almost finished with highschool. I'm 20 now, and I finally read the last book, Rilla of Ingleside, a couple weeks ago. I read the Chronicles of Narnia when I was little though. ... up with children's classics :-)
I plan to skip the children ones and go straight from Anne's House of Dreams through to Rilla of Ingleside. Comfort reads.
#4 Measuring The World by Daniel Kehlmann. Really enjoying it, but finding it slow going as I finish each chapter and want to ... I read Rilla of Ingleside, the final book in the Anne of Green Gables series (though not the only Avonlae books she wrote). I enjoyed it, though not as much as the first books which focused on Anne. The last two books are all about the kids. And there was one part of the story which disturbed me, ... ... 2.5/5

11.Tip ... ... been favourites of mine too, I inherited some from my mom and made sure I got the rest of the series. My favourite is Rilla of Ingleside. I grew up listening to my mom talking about what it was like to live through the war (WWII), waiting for news, hoping it was good. Rilla was sort of ... Haha, yes, I cry every time I read Rilla as well... As soon as I reach Walter's letter, I completely lose it. Rilla makes me cry every time I read it. I have a hard time choosing too. Maybe the Blue Castle... That's one with a lot of re-read potential for me. ... I can remember, and I have such a hard time choosing just one book to be my favourite... though I do positively adore both Rilla of Ingleside and Jane of Lantern Hill more than most of the others.
