#132: Just finished Crooked Little Vein...Chandleresque, however, Ellis geographically expands the decadence beyond So Cal to include the USA, coast-to-coast. Clipped, noir diction targeted for the Internet savvy. Saving Grace comes in the form of technology and media empowering the common man ...

Just started Crooked Little Vein by Warren Ellis...bizarre, disturbing, and LOL all at the same time. Anybody out there read it yet? Your thoughts?

... this book seems like it was, if not autobiographical, at least based on some personal experience. Started Warren Ellis's Crooked Little Vein - hilariously perverted already - and Bulgakov's The Master and Margarita. Still working on Bolano's The Savage Detectives, but my lack of ...

#89, EddieWinslow, I mightily enjoyed Crooked Little Vein, great fun.

15. Crooked Little Vein - Warren Ellis

I started reading Crooked Little Vein by Warren Ellis tonight. So far I'm enjoying it, even though it's mildly disturbing in parts. It's a quick read though, so I'm hoping to finish it by tomorrow.

I just finished Hidden Warrior by Lynn Flewelling. Now I'm reading Crooked Little Vein by Warren Ellis. I've learnt a few new words I didn't ever want to know. My bedtime reading at the moment is Byzantium by Stephen Lawhead.

180. Crooked Little Vein by Warren Ellis.

Not read Crooked Little Vein. By all accounts, Alan Moore's one try at prose without pictures is hard-going, Voice of the Fire. I own a copy, should try to it I suppose.

I hope Ellis is a better graphic novelist than novelist. CROOKED LITTLE VEIN did nothing for me. I don't know the 1066 book--gonna have to have a peek at that one. Bob, have you seen the ONION'S version of a world atlas, OUR DUMB WORLD? I howled at various passages and I'm a tough sell ...

... have outgrown to Half Price Books thinking to make a little cash. Instead I came home with The Garden of Last Days and Crooked Little Vein. Oh well. I'll be entertained anyway.

16. Idoru by William Gibson It made perfect sense, to my thinking - Crooked Little Vein, for example, isn't that much longer than some children's books, so it doesn't seem to work to try and go by page count.

I read Ellis' CROOKED LITTLE VEIN (believe that's what it was called) and was completely unimpressed. My wife likes the Marjane Satrapi PERSEPOLIS books and I've glanced at them--see ...

Miriam, at first I was a bit skeptical about Warren Ellis's Crooked Little Vein, but I laughed all the way through it, and have recommended it several times since.

#64 & 65 - Measure for Measure is an odd play, but it's one of my favorites. Yesterday I came home to a gift Crooked Little Vein by Warren Ellis and two books I had ordered from Amazon. Oh Pure and Radiant Heart by Lydia Millet, and Cooking with Fernet Branca by James Hamilton-Pa ...

I did some more poking around. From what I've seen, Crooked Little Vein seems to be the only work having issues.

Perhaps it's just behind, or perhaps this is a problem: When searching the UnSuggester for Crooked Little Vein I get the page that says, "Sorry. A book must be owned by at least 75 members to have unrecommendations." However, as of now, the book is owned by 205 member (which it indicates at ...

arrived from amazon - Crooked Little Vein which is surely the tiniest hardcover I have seen in a long time. Aggravating. and Ex Libris: Confessions of a common reader touchstones uncooperative.

... essays about his father, are so beautiful and devastating that they simply MUST be read. In other news, I just finished Crooked Little Vein. That's all I can say without devolving into obscenities.

Crooked Little Vein. I've mentioned this like ten times in the past ten minutes. I guess I like this book.

Crooked Little Vein. First day it was released. The Strand didn't have it, and I lost faith in the universe. But Barnes & Noble did. In conclusion, the universe likes to screw with my head.

Next up is Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs, which I should already be reading, but then I purchased Crooked Little Vein, and that plan pretty much imploded.
