This book summarizes the lives and accomplishments of five women who were early pioneers in aviation. Even though this book is geared towards ages 9-12, I enjoyed reading about all the brave woman who were courageous enough to learn to fly in the early days of aviation. I learned about five different women pilots, Harriet Quimby, Bessie Coleman, Amelia Earhart, Beryl Markham, and Jacqueline Cochran and the main thing was that most of them were turned down just because they were woman. One thing they had in common was their tenacity to reach their goal and accomplish what they wanted to do. ( )
