I do like Tomalin's biographies - her meticulous research means much detail taken from diaries and letters but her interpretation of what was happening also brings the characters to life. Katherine, Murry and Ida led very restless lives, moving house so many times that it is amazing that relevant documents were retained at all. ( )A fascinating biography about someone who was absolutely both 'haunted and haunting' and whose writing still has relevance today.
