Si chiama Isabelle, ed è la classica JAP (Jewish American Princesse) Statunitense: bella, affermata sul lavoro come bibliotecaria impegnata anche nell'organizzazione di eventi culturali, ricca, con un appartamento tutto suo nello Upper East Side di Manhattan, ma soprattutto... felicemente Single! Ma quando la severa "Yiddish Nonna" le mette davanti numerose proposte di matrimonio mai richieste, ecco che finisce col dover scegliere per forza tra un venditore di sottaceti ebreo e un ricco e prepotente scrittore di origini Olandesi conosciuto sul lavoro. Come andrà a finire?
