This starts off with one of those juicy cringe-worthy romance novel scenarios… Jude, who has just caught her longtime boyfriend cheating, is drowning her sorrows in a bar, when she meets a hot guy and has a ONS. But Jude’s life is falling apart in more ways than one, and because she’s drowning under the weight of medical bills, after they sleep together, she steals his wallet and sneaks out. Fast forward a few weeks, and (of course) she finds out Celian is her new boss. Ouch. This is delicious as ever, and LJ Shen is quickly becoming one of my favorite romance writers for her fun writing and great banter. I don’t want to go into too much detail here, because there are a lot of surprises revealed in the first third of this that make it extra juicy and wonderful, but suffice it to say that this is complex, the relationships are twisted, and I just could not stop reading. Celian’s life is one cluster-ahem, and while he professes not to want anything real, you can slowly watch the way what he and Jude have is becoming exactly that. Delightful and a guilty pleasure. Please excuse typos/name misspellings. Entered on screen reader. I absolutely loved this one. This is the perfect enemies-to-lovers, sexy office romance. The banter was fabulous. Celian is sexy and rich and was the perfect one night stand for Judith until she meets him as her boss. Judith is an amazing heroine and is the perfect match for Celian the asshole. The banter is amazing even with the nicknames! Love! no reviews | add a review
I could have impressed him, if not for last month's unforgettable one-night stand. I left it with more than orgasms and a pleasant memory--namely, his wallet. Now he's staring me down like I'm the dirt under his Italian loafers, and I'm supposed to take it. But the thing about being Judith "Jude" Humphry is I have nothing to lose. Brooklyn girl. Infamously quirky. Heir to a stack of medical bills and a tattered couch. When he looks at me from across the room, I see the glint in his eyes, and that makes us rivals. He knows it. So do I. Every day in the newsroom is a battle. Every night in his bed, war. No library descriptions found. |

Celiac has topped Vicious in terms of super hot jerk that makes poor Jude weak in the knees and dumb in the brain. I loved this story so much because he was a jerk but you just knew underneath would be something amazing and it was there but only for Jude which made it even better. ( )
