I was kind of luke warm on Magic Bites, but I have to say I think the books get better as they go along. Just finished Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews, this my second book of hers and I am continuing to enjoy them even if periodically I get lost in her action scenes.
I am starting Bella Andre's Wild Heat. I liked her first book, Take Me, but was not so thrilled with Red-hot Reunion. We ... Ilona Andrews writes great books - I love Magic Bites, Magic Burns and Magic Strikes they are a fab series. I am struggling on the last few on my challange 8 to go and I keep getting distracted by other books, plus I'll be doing nanowrimo for November and it'll be unlikley that I read ... ... really hit it with this story. I enjoyed it very much.

Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews - It took me quite a while to start enjoying this, but I wound up liking it enough that I picked up the second one and am currently reading ... I've finished Magic Bites and have started Storm of Visions, so far so good. ... with re-reads (none of which I've gotten to yet). One that came up in my Amazon search I wasn't really sure about was Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews which I just finished and is, in fact, a pretty good example of a werecat/urban fantasy themed book. I've switched one of my re-reads on ... I'm about halfway through Magic Bites and picked up Storm of Visions from the library today for our September read. I should be able to at least start it this weekend. ... Fingersmith for my 101010 challenge next year thanks to all of the great reviews it has gotten on here!
I've set aside Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews to read Smoke and Mirrors by Tanya Huff which I picked up from the library yesterday. ... it is a very fun and fast read! I think Razvan is one of my fave Carpathians now.
I've started the urban fantasy Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews. I'm not sure if there is any romance in the book or not, but there is always hope! Last night I started Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews. It sounds interesting and I'm hoping it is not another typical urban fantasy. 50. Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews (260 p.) -- Kate is a down-on-her-luck mercenary who cleans up magical problems. When her guardian -a knight-diviner - is killed, she is determined to find out who did it and to take revenge. Along the way she deals with the Masters of the Dead who control ... ... changing at different times of the day/night. Full of Magic, Vampires, Werewolves and sword carrying women :) start with Magic Bites.

Beyond that... I went into two ... ... not seem to have the same flair that his other books had and I thought it could have been cut by at least 50 pages

I actually hadn't noticed that before. I definitely like the genre, so it must be ... ... writing style changed so drastically I gave up. I'm sure you're right, with the 2 successful series.
Have you read Magic Bites? That was just published by a husband and wife team, Ilona Andrews. It reads like a first novel, which it is, but it's very good. Reminded me a lot of ... I highly recommend Magic Bites by Ilona Andrews. It is definitely urban fantasy with some romance in it, not a romance in an urban fantasy setting. About as much romance as, say, Patricia Briggs' Mercy series. Very good book, excellent considering this is a first publication by this ...
