My favorite of the series. Butch is such a great guy. J.R. Ward is an excellent author. I can't wait for number 8 in May. ( )

In the shadows of the night in Caldwell, New York, there's a deadly war raging between vampires and their slayers. And there exists a secret band of brothers like no other - six vampire warriors, defenders of their race. Now, an ally of the Black Dagger Brotherhood will face the challenge of his life and the evil of the ages. Butch O'Neal is a fighter by nature. A hard living, ex-homicide cop, he's the only human ever to be allowed in the inner circle of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. And he wants to go even deeper into the vampire world- to engage in the turf war with the lessers. He's got nothing to lose. His heart belongs to a female vampire, an aristocratic beauty who's way out of his league. If he can't have her, then at least he can fight side by side with the Brothers... Fate curses him with the very thing he wants. When Butch sacrifices himself to save a civilian vampire from the slayers, he falls prey to the darkest force in the war. Left for dead, found by a miracle, the Brotherhood calls on Marissa to bring him back, though even her love may not be enough to save him...

So Lover Revealed kind of started off slow. But i kept in mind it's going to get better. Which it did towards the middle of the book. Lover Revealed is not my favorite. But the story came together. I learned to like Butch.

I wasn't looking forward to reading this story as much as the others. It was a good read in the end with the continuing story of the brotherhood and their slayers. Butch did need a story and it came at a perfect time. Being that he wasn't a brother we needed to learn what was his part in the war and how their lives would be. Needless to say this book did just that.

And the plot thickens, war is coming and the lessens just keep coming. As always J.R. Ward always seems to surprise me. the next book is Lover Unbound, which is Vishous' story ( )

After raging through the first three Black Dagger Brotherhood novels, this one slowed the momentum down, just a little. I liked Butch from book one, and I was looking forward to his story. I even kinda like Marissa, the long suffering, innocent, ditched by the king, aristocrat. I was completely involved in the Butch/V storyline as well as the ongoing changes that Butch was involved in. What he does with the lessers is great stuff! I just found the sex parts of this book much less involving than the previous three stories. I can buy the two fell in love, but the love scenes were so blah. So cheesy. I got to those all too frequent scenes, and had to rush through them to get to more exciting things. I loved the total package in the first three books so much that I was a little surprised to be so underwhelmed. But enough of that. The rest of this book was just as steller and fabulous as the previous. The lesser storyline was exciting, as was the Butch transformation. I ate up any scenes featuring John or Rehvenge. I really am drawn to V and his personal hell. I am more than ready to read on to his story. Is it wrong of me to have found the V/Butch storylines to have more fizz than those between Butch and Marissa? Any mention of Tor or Wellsie had me emotional. This is such a great series that I can't imagine what I will do in a couple of books when I am caught up on the series! This series is a STANDOUT! ( )

This is the 4th book in the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series. I loved it!! This is my kind of book. Great plot, great characters, sex, relationship, action, adventure. This is turning ou to be a great series and I would highly recommend it to anyone. This book is about Butch. All the trials he goes through trying to win Marissa's love. He desperately loves her and she him but getting their act together takes some time. Lots of twists and surprises in this one. Yeah - on to book 5!! ( )
