Una buena secuela de Witch Boy donde profundiza en la identidad y en el amor de las amistades. La capacidad para abrirnos. Me gusta como Molly es capaz de dar mensajes tan wholesome de una manera tan sencilla y eficaz. ( ) A story about Aster and his friends being supportive and helping a new girl, who has developed her magical abilities without guidance. The artwork for the first in this series, The Witch Boy, didn’t particularly appeal to me (and I’d mainly read it because I’d liked Ostertag’s artwork for Sharon Shinn’s Shattered Warrior so much) but I really liked this one’s autumnal colour palette. As warm, charming, and satisfying as "The Witch Boy", "The Hidden Witch" builds on the little world created in the first book and brings more focus to side characters in a story that more deeply investigates both the pull and the costs of the Dark Side. Hurt and anger cause more than scars to the young and the need to strike back is powerful, but the long-term payouts are inevitably devastating. The blurb for the book prepares the reader for the introduction of a new character in Ariel, and it's easy to predict the elaboration of Aster and Charlie's friendship, but Sedge's unexpected development made the book worth the full 5 stars. Ostentag has made growing up come across pretty real here. no reviews | add a review
