Stanton senses danger on the night of Halloween and is visited by famous Regulator Malcolm who is disintegrating. He has a message for Stanton, but doesn't manage to give it all before passing over. He was an immortal so Stanton is baffled by his death. Stanton is then visited by Cassandra who is now outcast, neither a Follower or a true human. She is still in love with him and will do anything to win him back even telling the Regulators of his secret love for a Daughter. A face from his past has returned and they are trying to overthrown the Atrox and become the ultimate evil. Stanton is torn between Serena and defending himself.
This was an excellent addition to the series. I loved the ending, very sad and sinister, it really left things on the edge of a cliff plot wise and I can't wait to find out what happened to the lost Daughter and if they manage to get her back. (
