4047 Cubs Nation 162 Games - 162 Stories - 1 Addiction, by Gene Wojciechowski (read 17 July 2005) My kids gave me this for Father's Day and as a true Cub fan I reveled in it, though I knew it did not come out right. It is an account of the 2004 season, game by game; a season when the experts were actually predicting the Cubs would go to the World Series (as I routinely have done every season since 1938). The book is full of interesting facts but I admit reading the account of the last days of the season was hard to do (when I know the Cubs lost I simply skip the sports pages for that day). But there is much to be said for a book which is so totally "for" the Cubs, and that made much of the book great reading. ( )
