I read this book in school. I wasn't crazy about it then, but it was a little better the second time. I honestly don't remember much about when I read it in school or the discussions about meanings that we probably had. I still got bored some, but Pearl kept me more interested this time. I like the way everyone else's crap doesn't seem to get Pearl down. She's a strong character. ( ![]() Tried it. Made it to chapter 3. Moves slow as mud. Done. Sensational book written with amazing talent. The Scarlet Letter is a book that I should have read in high school but never did. If it were not for the challenge, I am not sure I would have ever picked up this book. However, now that I have read it, I am glad I did. Because I was under a deadline, I finished the book in one sitting. Overall, I enjoyed the story even though I had hoped for a different ending.
