I didn't find this volume as good as the first in the series, but still worth the read. As always more detail and subplots than the Tv series. Well written. ( ) Another good Lynley mystery. I'm glad I started to read the books. It's interesting to see how Lynley and Haver's relationship has changed even from the first book and yet stayed the same. It's also interesting to see the impulsivity that characterizes Lynley's later relationships, especially with Helen. I’ve already said how much I like this series in my review of the first book and how much I enjoy Elizabeth George’s prose, so I’m just going to use this one to say: seriously BBC? You left out like half the book when you adapted it and just kept the bare bones of what happened, not to mention cutting out not one but TWO subplots and leaving most of the episode to Lynley mooning over Helen. Anyways, always remember that the book is generally better, kids, and we’ll leave it at that. no reviews | add a review
