Not sure what the author's purpose was for writing this book. If he was looking to totally place his subject in the worse possible light then he definitely succeeded. Every single sentence in this book detracts from Ethel Kennedy's character. Not one good thing is said about her. The trouble is...I'm inclined to believe much of what was written. ( )

There are biographies that are critical of their subject and tehn there are biographies that are hatchet jobs. This book about Ethel Kennedy is in the latter category.I'm not quite sure why the author is so full of venom against Bobby Kennedy's widow, but no piece of malicious gossip or incident of scandal is too small to be dwelled on in great detail.

Even thought I'm not a big Kennedy fan, the depth of the author's hatred for his subject made me sympathetic towards her and also made me lon to tell the author just to shut up already. ( )
