15 scholarly articles on the archaeology of Albany, NY, from 1624 to the mid-1800s; sites ranging from the Schuyler Mansion, to a illicit trader's hut on the Fox Creek. All of interest, from the political firestorms involving new 1990s construction, to the poignant explication of centuries-old human remains .

According to Huey, the story of "Castle Island" may have been entirely invented by

"...Cuyler Reynolds, the City Historian, in 1926. He announced that a major historical discovery would occur during the new construction of the Port of Albany on Castle Island, proving that the first fort there was not Fort Nassau, built in 1614, but rather a French fort built in 1540. There is no known basis for such a hypothesis, and it is not known what, if anything, CR actually found."
