This would be a fun book to read aloud at the beginning of the year. It has a lot of great idioms that teachers do say throughout the year. For the ELL kids that may not have the background knowledge to understand these phrases this book would provide them an opportunity at the beginning of the year. I really enjoyed the illustrations in this book. Watching the kids in different settings around the school made me think of my own students are I read the book.
