Work detailsThe Cat in the Hat by Dr. Seuss
This is a classic book that could help children write and understand poetry. A classic, well known by people of all ages, and has truly lasted throughout the decades. Dr. Seuss is a master of rhyme and of making up non-sensical words in this story about a boy and a girl who are home without their mother on a rainy day. When the cat in the hat comes along they get into a lot of trouble and end up with a big mess. This is a fun book and has a lot of description and rhyming words. I would use this book to discuss character with the student also good to use to help students with word recognition since there are so many rhyming words. Students tend to like this book because of all thing the Cat does. This book is another one of my childhood favorites. This book is about 2 kids that are at home without there parents and they are supposed to be doing chores. This book is good for teaching students about rhyming words as well as a beginning on writing their own poetry.
This is classic book to be used in a lesson about rhyming. This is also a book to use in celebrating Dr. Seus Day!
