This was a tear-jerker! Even though I spent a lot of time crying over this book, I really enjoyed it. The story is set in the Dakotas and there is a wonderful scene describing the Battle of Little Big Horn from the Indian's point of view. The book deals with how the Indians felt about the white man encroaching on their land (and the raw deal they got from the government), how Kaylee and Blue Hawk had to deal with hatred between their peoples, and their fears about their future. (
